ABOUT THE PROJECT

Rooted in Trust is a pandemic information response plan countering the unprecedented scale and speed of the spread of rumors and misinformation about COVID-19 in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Colombia, Brazil, Mali, DRC, Zimbabwe, Sudan, South Sudan, Haiti, Madagascar, and Yemen. We work to create impact at the local level and inform approaches to rumor management at the global level. The project is supported by a Global Technical Advisory team made up of media, humanitarian, data science and information management experts.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Advisor will lead on the implementation and improvement of the Rooted in Trust project’s monitoring and evaluation and reporting. Our ideal candidate is an experienced monitoring and evaluation professional with prior experience evaluating multi-country projects, ideally USAID-supported projects.

LOGISTICS

This is a short-term, full-time consultancy, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2022 and anticipated end date of January 31, 2023. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so candidates should apply soon.

This is a fully remote consultancy, and all remote candidates will be considered. However, you must have work authorization in your location that does not require sponsorship from Internews. Additionally, there are locations in which Internews is not able to support fully remote work.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Lead on the implementation and improvement of the specific processes, methodologies, and tools for planning, monitoring, evaluation, learning, accountability, and reporting in line with Internews’ minimum requirements as well as BHA’s expectations and general MEAL best practice;
  • Work with country teams to identify outcomes, write success stories and other types of case studies. Work with the leadership team to ensure the case studies are promoted both internally and externally through a variety of mediums, such as blog posts, social media, and project reporting;
  • Monitor implementation of systems, processes, and tools, ensuring quality and consistency in data entry and reporting;
  • Organize workshops and trainings with the RiT and humanitarian team to ensure adequate skills and understanding of all MEAL tools, processes and purposes;
  • Manage and improve all the reporting data collection tools for the project including the partners submission;
  • Oversee and draft the donor needed reports due during the contract period;
  • Oversee an external evaluation; and
  • In all duties, demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to upholding Internews’ Core Values.

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Relevant degree in a related field, graduate degree preferred;
  • Must have strong writing skills and be very comfortable writing reports in English;
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English required; fluency in spoken French highly desired; fluency in other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation for multi-country projects required. Experience with USAID-funded projects or familiarity with other institutional donor requirements would be an asset.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative M&E data collection and analysis methods required; specific experience with outcome harvesting, outcome mapping or contribution analysis would be an asset.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, writing and communication skills; outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the field of media programming would be an asset.
