This role could be based in the UK in the London office (Christian Aid is currently trialling a hybrid working model and you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days per week). The salary quoted is for the London office but if based at home, the salary will be £38,238.00.

About the role

This role is offered on a contract of up to 12 months.

As Senior Project Coordinator – Syria, you will deliver on Christian Aid’s strategy for responding to those affected by the conflict in Syria, working with local partners. Alongside ongoing project development, and project and partnership management, the role has a critical focus on programme resourcing and donor engagement, which will be a priority for any successful candidate

Working closely with the Programme Manager and programme funding colleagues, you will lead on the development of strategic partnerships with donors and peer agencies, identification of funding opportunities, and development of funding proposals. A large part of the role is external facing, helping Christian Aid to engage with donors, and improve visibility of the programme with external stakeholders.

This role sits in the Middle East team, within the International Department and requires regular travel to the Middle East region.

About you

You will be a self-starter with extensive experience of working in the international development / humanitarian sector, preferably with significant experience of working in the Middle East and in particular responding to the Syrian crisis.

You will have significant demonstrable experience of resource mobilisation, identifying funding opportunities, funding proposals and donor engagement.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to develop and manage effective relationships with donors, local partners, and other key stakeholders. A willingness and ability to travel to the region is critical.

You will have a commitment to supporting localisation, civil society and to working with local partner organisations, whilst ensuring accountability to the people and communities Christian Aid works with.
