Overview of position:
We are seeking an experienced Odoo Developer who will be responsible for maintaining, developing, customising & integrating high quality Odoo ERP business applications with other systems & providing ongoing support & future enrichment of those solutions to support business processes. You will be required to apply your depth of Odoo framework, programming knowledge & expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, propose the best technical solution by understanding business requirements from a techno functional aspect & remain involved in all development related aspects of our operational software. You will work in a collaborative, trusting & thought provoking environment.

The Senior Odoo Developer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Carrying out development activities for customization, code migration, data integration & reports automation in Odoo framework.
Design technical structure of the solution.
Work closely with the Program Manager to plan, scope, design, develop, release & enhance features / solutions.
Participate in project planning by providing estimation of technical / development effort.
Application development using Odoo framework & components.
Bug fixing, performance optimisation & product support.
Ensure that you follow the prescribed coding & development best practices to give high quality output as per the requirement.
Adhere to the latest development methods like continuous deployment & integration.
Assess the impact of changes / customisations in the existing Odoo app, implement solutions to mitigate negative outcomes & optimise performance.
Ensuring that you keep the code clean, readable & optimised & the code quality is maintained at a high standard.
Troubleshoot & debug issues that arise during development & testing.
Must possess a strong learning curve & should be willing to stay updated of the development tools, programming techniques, latest cloud services, modern programming & technical concepts & apply them to improve the software development process.

Project reporting:
This role reports to the Program Manager.

Key competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
At least 6 – 8 years’ experience in software development, with a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in developing applications using Odoo & Python.
Prior & relevant work experience in the Middle east & / or Africa is desired.
Fluency in English is required.
Proficiency in Python, Javascript, XML, HTML, CSS, JQuery & Postgres SQL.
Must have good knowledge of core python & programming concepts; python development frameworks.
Must have knowledge about popular open source IDE such a Eclipse or PyCharm.
Good understanding of object oriented design principles, web services, Restful APIs & design patterns.
Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
Must have code optimisation skills & proactively look for ways to make architecture, code & operations better.
Software development life cycle in an agile environment.
Strong problem solving & analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify & resolve technical issues.
Ability to learn fast & execute accordingly.
Excellent time management, communication skills, attention to detail, strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently & collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
