About the Unit
Yara aims to grow nature positive food future and is leading the development of sustainable agriculture and digital tools to contribute to solving global agricultural challenges. We have a worldwide presence with sales teams in ~150 countries and around 17,000 employees.
Drawing on over a century of crop nutrition experience, Yara established the Digital Ag Solutions (DAS) unit 4 years ago to explore how technology could be used to impact farmer livelihoods and productivity. Today, DAS has built products for smallholder and professional farmers, retailers and other farming ecosystem stakeholders across Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe. In the next phase central enablement platforms will be delivered for Regional Digital Teams to develop all end-to-end customer journeys from incubation, solution development to commercial scale up.
In Region Europe we are building a team of engineers, data scientists, researchers and designers to achieve Yara’s goal to responsibly feed the world and protect the planet. Join us in building new digital products and services to create value for stakeholders across the agricultural ecosystem in Europe. The role reports to VP Farming Solutions Europe Digital.
Responsibilities
- Overall accountability for the design, setup, and delivery of a best-in-class UX discipline to support the needs of product teams and continuously improve the delivery/support/services provided to the product teams.
- Lead the Design Team considering both the short-term project/delivery needs of the ux/ui design, ux content, and user research function and the long-term strategic needs.
- Aligning design activities and overall business strategy within the discipline regionally, including the setup/structure and overall accountability for the outcomes of the discipline.
- Lead through influence and common interest, managing internal stakeholders by building the right relationships to focus on delivery.
- Cross-disciplinary partnership to support objectives/goals and manage external partnerships.
- Support and develop the overall design knowledge base of the company through competency programs.
- Build the profile of Yara as a net knowledge/best practice/open source/value contributor to the market in terms of design (thought leadership).
- Collaborate with Central Ops teams and other regional teams to improve the methodologies, policies and best practices we use regarding User experience domains.
Profile
- Design/UX/UI/Content/User Research project/team management experience across end-to-end development of mobile and web apps (Android, iOS).
- Experience in setup and adaptation of a design practice over a minimum 3 to 5 years based on evolving needs of the given company.
- Solid understanding of best practices within the design space.
- Aligned with our principles: people-centric; ethical development; environmental; social-impact; build talent/give back.
- Strong people management and team building skills.
