Compensation: $101,238 USD to $114,588 USD gross annually

About the position:

Key Outcomes:

In the first 90 days, the Senior Manager, Compliance will:

· Learn and live the Americares values.

· Complete all required new hire onboarding training.

· Begin to manage the policy portal.

· Provide follow-up on pending certifications.

· Integrate into the work of the anti-boycott process.

· Have an understanding of the administrative aspects of the pharmaceutical warehouse distribution licensing, and charitable registration processes.

In the first 6 months, the Senior Manager, Compliance will:

· Assist the General Counsel with the modification of the Code of Conduct.

· Prepare for re-certification of the Code of Conduct, annual policy renewal process, and insurance renewal season.

· Support with the modification of policies and procedures

In the first year, the Senior Manager, Compliance will:

· Update and implement the Conflicts of Interest and Employee Gift Acceptance policies and procedures.

· Innovate for an enhanced policy review process and training calendar.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage the organizational policy communication, tracking, documentation, and certification process (including but not limited to managing the policy portal).

· Support policy governance structure and the management of policies and procedures.

· Provide administrative oversight for the anonymous reporting line platform and monthly incident reporting.

· Assist with conducting investigations and managing investigatory processes under the direction of GC or AGC.

· Conduct compliance trainings.

· Serve as Records Custodian for Legal Department.

· Support corporate compliance and specialty compliance areas such as, Export Controls (Anti-boycott, Sanctions Screening, OFAC Compliance, BIS Compliance), Privacy/HIPAA/GDPR and Anti-corruption programs, including serving as an internal control.

· Support charitable registrations and pharmaceutical warehouse distribution licensing.

· Administer insurance renewal programs and ongoing insurance projects.

· Conduct legal research as needed.

· Drive strategic projects and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

· Maintain electronic records, filings, and documents.

· Any additional tasks or assignments as directed by the General Counsel.

· The role will have some travel during the year for meetings and key projects.

These competencies are required for the role:

• You have at least 10 years’ experience as a Paralegal or Compliance Manager, preferably in an international/multicultural NGO or government context.

• You have excellent legal research and writing skills.

• You have demonstrated project management and cross functional team collaboration skills.

• You are able to work independently, multi-task, and meet changing deadlines.

• You have demonstrated excellency when it comes to attention to detail.

• You have excellent communication skills.

• You have advanced knowledge of Lexis Nexis or Westlaw, Microsoft 365 package, and are proficient in the use of Lighthouse or another whistleblower hotline.

• You have U.S. work authorization.

These competencies would be great to have, but are not required:

· You preferably have a bachelor’s degree but will consider a paralegal certificate.

· CCEP or CCEP-I certification.

· Prior experience in a humanitarian/development organization is a plus.

· Fluency in languages that are spoken in at least one of our core locations (India, Philippines, Tanzania, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Colombia, etc.), in addition to English.
