They will provide support to technical staff working on the TB project and the regional Environment and Climate Change (ECC) Initiative in the statistical analysis of project/secondary data, the interpretation of these analyses to inform national policy, and the application of related research questions as appropriate.

The Senior Data Scientist will also support the design, analysis, interpretation and documentation of statistical results for project/program/strategy implementation, including analyses using AI (ML or DL).

Key Responsibilities:**

Additional responsibilities including, but not limited to:

· Develop statistical standard operating procedures and provide training to statisticians and non-statisticians on data analysis plans, with a specific emphasis on AI (ML or DL) data.

· Develop statistical procedures to ensure consistency and use of the most appropriate statistical techniques;

· Lead and ensure the quality of design, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of statistical analyses for project(s) data, with a special focus on AI (ML or DL) analyses.

· Provide technical expertise to use AI deep learning networks for chest X-ray interpretation with the goal to improve TB detection and for AI applications to climate science.

· Secure and analyze large datasets that can predict climate change to, for instance, inform disaster response; monitor biodiversity.

· Act as key liaison with strategic partners including Ministries of Health (MOH), National Tuberculosis Programs, Ministries of Environment and others to provide technical support as needed.

· Lead capacity-building of project teams and other partners on technical expertise in research, implementation science, data analysis, and data science/artificial intelligence.

· Proficient in developing AI ML/DL solutions in R or Python, with experience in both a hands-on and strategic capacity.

· Proficient in exploratory AI ML/DL data analysis and hypothesis testing to identify interesting trends and relationships; implement algorithms to support analysis using advanced statistical and mathematical methods from statistics, ML/DL, data mining, and operations research.

· Previous experience supporting clinical trials and translational science research including trial planning, sample size and power calculation for trial designs, and adaptive trial designs.

· Management experience with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to multi-task in fast-paced environments.

· Desired: Interest in learning about TB, if expertise is not already acquired; Knowledge of/experience with AI/DL software for TB CXR interpretation (e.g., qXR (Qure.ai), CAD4TB (Delft Imaging), Lunit Insight (Lunit), etc.
