The Role:

As a Senior Compliance Analyst for EMQ in Singapore, you will work closely with and report to the Singapore MLRO & APAC Compliance Lead. Compliance team to ensure that we apply best practice in carrying out customer due diligence, identifying and assessing risk and ensuring commensurate controls are applied.

What You’ll Be Doing…

  • Assist APAC Compliance Lead in meeting SG MLRO responsibilities by working cross-functionally across multiple teams to ensure execution against regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Perform risk assessments of financial institutions and non-bank financial institutions
  • Advise and carryout EDD and suggest controls commensurate with the risks identified
  • Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance and promote the adoption of a compliance culture throughout EMQ’s UK operations, consistent with EMQ’s values
  • Follow up on outstanding onboarding issues/escalations
  • Respond to onboarding/client review requests raised by the relevant business development Managers
  • Reviews and approves AML Questionnaires and Commercial agreement deviations by/from network partners
  • Appropriately escalate issues to management, MLRO, and/or the business as appropriate.
  • Help to develop policies and procedures and risk assessments in relation to the initial and ongoing customer due diligence of bank and non-bank financial institutions and help lead the implementation of the same.
  • Tracks local regulatory and AML policies released by MAS and performs gap analysis against EMQ’s global requirements

  • Act in an advisory capacity in connection to client onboarding
  • Recommend, develop, and implement solutions to support continuous improvement of our processes, procedures, and services.
  • Provide ad hoc training to the compliance team and front office functions where required.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality.

What We’re Looking For…

  • Ially hold a bachelor’s or above degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance or related fields
  • Fluent in English and able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; working knowledge of the FinTech industry and international remittance service is a great asset
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ relevant working experience working within a regulated financial services business in Legal, Compliance, and/or Audit roles (experienced with cross border remittances/payments preferred)
  • A rounded understanding of the global regulatory landscape
  • High level of IT literacy with good Word and Excel skills; attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
  • Team player with a good analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
