Tetra Tech International Development (http://tetratechintdev.com) is seeking senior-level candidates with expertise in supporting water and sanitation utility turnaround and performance improvement programs in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. This position is preferably based in Arlington, Virginia, or Burlington, Vermont, with consideration of remote work from US-based locations.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise supporting sanitation service delivery improvements and innovationsin Africa and Asia. The candidate will contribute to business development, project delivery, external communications and client diversification. Please note that hiring is contingent upon contract award decisions.**
Responsibilities:
* Lead complex proposals in response to WASH sector opportunities in developing countries
* Design, deliver and supervise water and sanitation utility performance improvement plans
* Develop and implement thought leadership, marketing and communications interventions
* Provide contract technical and administrative oversight and management to ensure high quality and timely project delivery
* Represent Tetra Tech to clients in the US and developing countries
* Supervise and mentor junior sector staff members as required.
Qualifications:
* Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., resource economics, urban planning, engineering, water resources management, international affairs, finance) required
* Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience with demonstrated expertise in water utility performance improvement in Africa, the Middle East or Asia
* Demonstrated experience addressing non-revenue water management, asset management, billing and collections, energy efficiency and other performance areas
* Prior successful experience writing complex technical proposals is strongly preferred
* Experience managing large, complex water and sanitation projects in developing countries
* Advanced professional proficiency in French, Portuguese or Arabic is strongly preferred
* Outstanding oral, written communications and presentation skills
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure on multiple concurrent projects;
* Demonstrated detail orientation and exceptionally high levels of organization;
* Highly proficient in MS Office applications;
* Position requires regular international travel (roughly 20%-30%), including potential travel to conflict and post-conflict countries;
* Long-term experience working on field-based (overseas) projects preferred
* Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with poise and professionalism; and
* U.S. work authorization required.
