Would you like to be a part of our international work for children’s rights? We are looking for an Institutional Partnership Senior Advisor focusing on our EU donors, in particular ECHO and INTPA. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are embarking on our new strategy period and the EU is implementing its 2021-2027 Multiannual Financing Framework.

We offer a permanent position in the Institutional Partnership Section within the International Program Department. The Institutional Partnership Section ensures long term and sustainable donor relations, resulting in funding and policy influence contributing to the SC breakthroughs so that children survive, learn, and are safe.
The Senior Advisor is responsible for coordinating Save the Children Norway’s (SCN) overall partnership with the EU donors. The Senior Advisor works closely with relevant colleagues internally in SCN and Save the Children International as well as with other Save the Children members.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Be the SCN focal point for collaboration with the SC Europe office and coordinate SCN’s strategic engagement with EU donors. This includes developing and providing strategic direction and steer for SCN’s partnership with EU donors.
  • Provide analysis and expert advice on the policies and priorities of the EU as well as best practice for fundraising, including funding projections to advice senior management decisions.
  • Assist fundraising efforts, including tracking and sharing information about new funding opportunities, undertake necessary research and data analysis, support selected proposal and reporting processes, and assist reviews of partnership agreements, grant agreements, and consortia agreements
  • Provide advice and detailed guidance to colleagues at SCN and SC country offices on donor compliance, requirements, and expectations throughout the project cycle, with particular attention to complex and multi-beneficiary grants
  • Facilitate information sharing and learning to strengthen internal staff capacity to fundraise and manage funding from donors, including development of policies and procedures, guidance tools, and materials
  • Coordinate and assist donor-initiated organizational processes such as organizational audits, assessments, and thematic reporting
  • Develop and manage the SCN EU donor workplan, priorities, deliverables, and goals
  • Coordinate with other Save the Children members to deliver on joint priorities and exchange best practices.
  • Support advocacy efforts targeting EU donors, including representing SCN at donor events in Brussels or elsewhere
  • Support the overall deliverables of the Institutional Partnership Section and take on additional tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • We are seeking a self-driven, dynamic and structured individual with excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills
  • You are dedicated to Save the Children’s mission in ensuring all children survive, learn and are safe
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of EU donors, including strategic priorities, organizational set-up and funding mechanisms, and contractual and operational compliance requirements
  • You continually seek out training and continued education to keep yourself abreast of donor developments and requirements
  • You have excellent understanding of international trends in development funding and donorship
  • You have documented results in fundraising, including developing donor strategies and plans, as well as developing proposals and reports to government/institutional donors
  • You have a university degree (MA) or equivalent.
  • You have a minimum 5 years of practical experience from a humanitarian and/or development organisation or donor administration, either at HQ or field level.
  • You have strong planning and administrative skills, including a good understanding of financial reporting and budgeting.
  • You have high work capacity; you motivate others and enjoy working in teams.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and verbal; Norwegian, Arabic, French, and Portuguese are a plus
  • You are able to obtain a work permit valid in Norway, if you are not a Norwegian national.**WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:**

We will also consider candidates who are willing to relocate for the position, but we wish to inform that support from Save the Children in the relocation process is limited.
