Sightsavers has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Driver/Administrative Assistant to provide support to our Cameroon office.

The purpose of the role is to drive staff in the office as well as visiting Sightsavers staff and consultants when necessary and to always ensure the maintenance and safety of all office vehicles and to perform clerical duties in support of the efficient running of the office.

The drivers’ key duties and accountabilities include:

  • Act as driver for Staff to carry out official duties, pick Sightsavers staff to & from Airport

  • Ensure vehicles are ready for utilisation and have the required security and health equipment, keep vehicles in a clean condition, undertake routine maintenance and ensure vehicle’s safety.

  • Run office errands including picking up courier, invoices, bank operations, liaison with immigration and diplomatic representations for staff visas and payment of office statutory bills.

  • Assist with the organisation of various office events, undertake photocopying, scanning and filing, monitor electricity/generator usage and perform other admin duties as required.

As the ideal candidate you will have an GCE (at ordinary level), will have previously worked within an INGO, and possess extensive experience in a similar Driver Admin role. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance is an advantage. You must hold a valid and clean driving licence, be computer literate and have good English and French language skills.
