As a key member of the accounting and finance team, the senior accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions multiple operating and holding companies.

 

The successful candidate will assist in month-end close process, preparation and review of financial statements and coordinate the timely distribution of financial reporting to the appropriate parties.

 

He or she will also assist with ad hoc financial analysis as needed. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring accurate and timely internal controls over financial transactions are critical to success in this role.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Partner with Operations to research and resolve any questions or discrepancies related to the financial statements
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and their proper posting to the general ledger for assigned companies
  • Ensure tasks are performed in compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries, accruals and other tasks as assigned in support of the monthly close process
  • Prepare and/or review monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations with supporting details and variance explanations
  • Review assigned operating statements and balance sheets for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Record monthly allocations, depreciation, and amortization
  • Coordinate and assist with the annual audit and preparation of annual tax returns
  • Assist the Directors of Accounting & Finance with ad hoc business reporting as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall organizational goals and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance/business degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in accounting, preferably in a multi-unit environment
  • Strong work ethic and motivation to achieve operational goals and excellence
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of accounting software packages
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple tasks, meeting business needs and deadlines
  • Limited travel and overtime require
