About The Team
As a System Engineer in the HANA infrastructure team, you will be working with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated people. You will join the team in configuring, operating, and developing the systems used for the HANA build- & test infrastructure. You will manage and operate the 2000 large memory servers in our landscape. In addition, you will drive automation by contributing to our observability and server management tool stack.
In Your Daily Work You Can Expect To
- Provision servers with consistently configured Linux operating systems
- Monitor system health and resolve system issues
- Contribute to the development and innovation of our system management software stack
- Participate in handling infrastructure incidents
- Security issues scanning, analyzing, and handling
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
Required Skills
- Masters degree in computer science or bachelors degree with proven track record in software development or quality assurance
- Advanced experience with Linux system (OS administrator, problem solving, configuration, network, and other IaaS level issues)
- Programming knowledge in at least one language (Shell/Python)
- Ability to work well in close teamwork across international locations
- Proficient in English reading and writing
- Can work 3-4 days a week for at least 6 months.
A plus will be experience with
- Experience on troubleshooting SELinux policies
- Automated configuration management (E.g., ansible)
- Docker Container technologies
- Cloud computing / orchestration (E.g., Mesos, Kubernetes, Terraform, OpenStack)
- Cluster storage (E.g., NFS, Ceph, GPFS, Amazon S3)
- Familiar with monitoring tooling (E.g., Grafana)
- Computer related Certificate is preferred (E.g., RHCSA / RHCE / RHCA or CCNA / CCNP / CCIE)
