Job Description

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States, working East Coast hours.

Position Summary

We are seeking a technical savvy IT professional to manage multiple large enterprise-wide environments including the coordination with a third party vendor on AWS. This position will establish and lead environment change management process for a critical Biomedical application.

Candidate must possess strong communication (especially working in a remote environment) and organizational skills while providing leadership and understanding various technologies (security, networking, cloud, microservices infrastructure, etc).

Responsibilities

Act as the instance liaison between Vendor and Red Cross:

  • Coordinate and communicate any planned and unplanned changes to the environment to the RC team
  • Communicate issues clearly using both technical and non-technical language to appropriate stakeholders during critical issue management
  • Act as single point of contact for technical issues related to Blood Management System “BMS” instances
  • Work closely with both the Red Cross Systems Engineering team and vendor to resolve technical issues related to infrastructure & BMS Applications

Coordinate Instance Enhancement And Maintenance Roadmap

  • Coordinate with the IT Portfolio Managers, Business Systems Integrations Leaders and other technology stakeholders to establish and implement a technical roadmap (includes upgrades and paths)
  • Work with Corporate IT teams on Tech stack roadmap development and implementation
  • Ensuring end-state is updated for all application Instances Patch/Fix/Release Analysis, Tracking and Deployment.
  • Manage and Maintain Production Instance maintenance windows and yearly maintenance calendar (for internal downtimes and third-party downtimes)

Ensure proper change management processes and procedures are followed for all instance enhancement and maintenance changes:

  • Responsible for executing maintenance windows and technical cut-overs working along with IT Portfolio Managers
  • Responsible for ensuring all proper change management processes have been followed by Red Cross team and SaaS vendor
  • Responsible for ensuring proper communications have been done for all instance changes

Control And Monitor The Instances

  • Ensure all appropriate instance Service Level Agreements (SLA) are established and documented
  • Monitor all SLA on available and reported performance regularly to Red Cross management and vendor
  • Maintain and Manage third-party application Instance Management documentation
  • Monitor Application and integration availability and performance.

Assist In Process Improvement

  • Work with third-party vendor and internal IT for continual Instance Performance Improvements

Scope: Individual contributor and acknowledged technical expert. Some irregular work hours will be required to support this 24/7/365 system.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of combined relevant work experience and education.
  • Bachelors’ degree required.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide SaaS application with multiple environments.
  • Experience implementing and managing application monitoring software.
  • Experience with technical release management.
  • Experience working in an regulated environment preferred.
  • Experience establishing & leading change management processes for instances (preferred)
  • Strong written & verbal communications to help facilitate communication among stakeholders, etc.
  • An understanding of Web Services, JSON and API’s to transmit data objects. Background in monitoring application integrations.
  • AWS experience preferred.
