Founded in 2003, Women Rehabilitation Organization (WRO) is a non-profit, non-governmental, independent organization dedicated to working to promote human rights and fundamental freedoms for all men, women, and children, eradicate poverty and violence against women, catalyze gender equality, protect child rights, improve poor health conditions and access to education, address climate change, drive peaceful coexistence, reconciliation and equal and fair pathways to justice, build trust, tolerance, and inclusion, engage youth, and strengthening the sustainability of civil society, and shape norms for localization development.

WROs mission is to engage as humanitarian aid workers to provide effective and efficient humanitarian aid and development support and empower individuals and communities to become agents of change where every woman, man, and child have access to social justice, gender equality, and a dignified life free from violence and discrimination. WROs vision is built on the principles and believes in collaboration and collective action of civil society, international organizations, and individuals in investing in the communal needs of refugees, IDPs, and host communities to forge social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.

In partnership with local, regional, and global civil society, international organizations, and governmental bodies, WRO has been able to successfully contribute towards meeting individual and community needs through multi-sectorial holistic programming that fosters gender and protection mainstreaming. For 2 decades WRO has successfully delivered over 100 humanitarian and development initiatives focused on local, regional, and global advocacy, stabilization and reconciliation, peacebuilding, general protection, child protection, SGBV prevention and response, psychological MHPSS and physical health and well-being, non-formal education, individual and community capacity building, wash, legal, advocacy, livelihoods, political and economic participation, voter and democratic awareness, reconstruction, and civil society and governmental capacity building and engagement initiatives. Furthermore, WRO is devoted to international commitments including contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security, and UNSCR 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security.

As a national and regional expert in holistic individual, family and community economic, education, protection, social, and equal participation empowerment, WROs efforts have shed light locally and internationally through advocacy on many important issues such as mainstreaming gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response across all sectors, sexual violence in conflict (SVC), and other issued related to marginalized groups rights in Iraq and the Middle East through initiatives that directly impact tens of thousands of families each year including through the provision of lifesaving support and developmental dignified solutions and services that drive individual and collective healing, integration, inclusion, resiliency, self-determination, and peaceful coexistence with dignity and care.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONCIBILITIES

• Support community members with identified mental or emotional disorders that were referred by Case Managers/Workers or other agencies through WRO.
• Provide individualized assessment and support plans for each case of potential mental health illnesses and conditions and specify the treatment and/or therapy required.
• Identify and provide referral for cases in need of psychiatric care.
• Providing individualized therapy using different techniques and develop a thorough follow up plan according to individual cases.
• Provide regular updates in reports and documents following a very strict policy for beneficiary confidentiality.
• Deliver both individual and peer to peer support group psychotherapy when either is required as appropriate.
• Utilize a patient-centered approach to empower beneficiaries in the mental health and wellness decision making and provision of mental health care support process.
• Providing internal training for WROs teams including case workers, social workers, and outreach staff and external WRO partners on various mental health thematic and practical topics.
• Develop key mental health and wellness related awareness materials and sessions to be delivered to community members.
• Being creative in developing new activities to empower communities, GBV survivors, children, and vulnerable groups through psychological support.
• Provide coaching and support to the field teams in the implementation of recreation and structured PSS activities for women, children, adolescents, and parents/caregivers.
• Support WRO teams in strengthening self-care and positive wellness and positive coping tools for front line workers and act as point of support for staff in need of self-care support.
• Work in collaboration with senior management and technical supervisors to develop and enhance overall project components and ensure MHPSS mainstreaming.
• Perform all tasks following WRO Policy and Key protection principles, such as, do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality and accountability and need-to-know principles

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Related degree
• Related experience in regard to the above duties and responsibilities
• At least 5 years of relevant experienced as a formal psychologist
• Field experience in a humanitarian organization working in humanitarian aid.
• Strong passion and respect for human rights for all, humanitarian principles, children’s rights, gender equality and women’s rights, ALL individuals right to access to high quality mental health care.
• Strong ability to remain confidentiality, analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
• Maintains exceptional professionalism while representing WROs values and mission
• Ability to work under pressure and outside of normal working hours as needed and in conflict-affected settings, and to handle numerous tasks simultaneously
• Willingness to work independently and with minimum supervision, and as a part of a multicultural team
• Strong organizational, reporting, and writing skills
• Excellent command of English, Kurdish, and Arabic written and spoken
• Demonstrable computer literacy
