Revenue Manager

Job Description & Function

It is the primary responsibility of the Revenue Manager to maximize and manage room revenues, achieve or exceed forecasts, hotel occupancy, average daily rates, and revenue per available room while assisting other hotel departments with maximizing revenues, controlling expenses, or any other special projects. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.

Specific Job Functions:

•Manage and maximize room revenues and various hotel departmental revenues and expenses.

•Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecast reports on hotel occupancy and revenues to include annual revenue budget.

•Utilize a variety of history, pacing, segmentation, and pricing reports to ensure accurate forecasting.

•Establish goals to consistently achieve or exceed forecasts from room revenue, occupancy, Average Daily Rate, and Revenue per Available Room.

•Implement yield management techniques which require multiple pacing reports, historical data, property rate comparison, and accurate forecasting to understand booking trends and patterns to maximize revenue.

•Select the most profitable mix of customers during both the high and low demand seasons.

•Manage property occupancy through competitive analysis, pricing, promotion and marketing efforts.

•Maintain accurate inventory records and reports, and be able to recognize when price changes are necessary.

•Perform all duties deemed necessary for the success of the department.

Qualifications

•Four year college degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting preferred.

•Minimum of two years experience in the Hospitality industry.

•Knowledge of basic finance and / or accounting applications and practices.

•Previous experience as a manager in the hotel industry Revenue Management discipline.

•Strong organizational and analytical skills.

•Intermediate or expert skill level in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.

•Ability to assist in special projects and meet tight deadlines required.

•Professional appearance and communication a must.

Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
