We’re looking for an experienced people and Store Manager to help deliver real commercial success for our new Great Yarmouth Superstore!

What’s the role?

In this challenging and varied role, you will be responsible for our Superstore and achieving its commercial success. Everything from managing a large team of talented, diverse individuals to building relationships within Great Yarmouth to build awareness and bring in more stock. Our Superstore is at the hub of the local community, acting as the face of Cancer Research UK, and raising public awareness of our campaigns.

What will I be doing?

  • Achieving agreed sales targets and maximising profit
  • Ensuring excellent customer service and supporter care
  • Generating additional income using local corporate contacts and media
  • Generating quality donated goods to achieve the agreed processing targets
  • Managing and processing large volumes of donations
  • Maintaining a high standard of merchandising and display both windows and in-store
  • Ensuring CRUK security procedures and health & safety policies are correctly followed
  • Effectively recruit, develop and retain both paid staff and volunteers
  • Ensuring the shop is fully staffed during extended opening hours
  • Coming up with new ideas and initiatives to increase stock generation and community engagement high
  • Keeping up to date with CRUK’s wider activities, engaging and supporting with fundraising initiatives

Your Experience:

  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Experience of working in a large store and managing large volumes of stock
  • Previous experience of leading and motivating a diverse team of people
  • Previous experience of working with sales and profit targets
  • Creative thinker with the desire to look for new opportunities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent at building relationships within the local community, with a good knowledge of the local area

We believe a strong induction plan is key to your success. Your 4-week induction will consist of key competencies, with regular catch-ups and reviews with your Training Shop Manager and Area Manager, to help you make the most of your learning experience and really set you up for success. You will also be invited to attend 6 training courses within your initial 6 months to help build your knowledge base and really support our Superstore to achieve success. This training will give you the knowledge required to successfully run one of our Superstores and it’s a great way to start your career in Cancer Research UK.

What’s next?

For this role we will be running a group recruitment day on Wednesday the 15th of May 2019. This will consist of an activity with other candidates and an interview with some of our team.
