Terre des hommes

Terre des hommes – in consortium with Social Development Direct, Clear Global, and ICVA – has developed a website “Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub”(RSH) in order to support organisations in international development to improve their safeguarding policies and practices.

The website has been operational since June 2020 and has several hundred practical documents for organisations: quality assured guidance, tools, support, and research on safeguarding. Partners are struggling to present these resources in a way that helps users find what they are looking for. Users may be overwhelmed by the number of documents and turned off. For this reason, consortium partners are seeking feedback from its users about the services and products RSH offers.

The task

Terre des hommes is seeking the services of a qualified researcher in order to explore what the needs of users of the RSH are and whether a machine-learning-based solution can help with these needs. The report will contribute to RSH’s Annual Report to FCDO on usability as well as it will form the basis of a decision on whether to develop a machine-learning-based solution for the RSH or not.

The reasearcher’s main activities are:

  • to design and conduct 5–10 online key informant interviews with current users of RSH,
  • to compile the report of the interviews,
  • to present the results to the RSH team and help them to make a decision.

The primary goal is to ascertain the users’ opinion and experience about the use of the website and its services/products, in order to support them in navigating the website and finding guidance that they need quickly and easily. The interviews will follow a recent online survey (results will be made available to the consultant).

Deliverables

  1. Development of methodology, survey- and key informant interviews (by 20 October 2022)
  2. Completing the survey- and all key informant interviews (by 15 November 2022)
  3. Report of the interviews and the collected feedback (by 30 November 2022)
