Working with the Research Team at Seven Star Consultants

At Seven Star Consultants Ltd, the selected candidate is expected to utilize professional skills to support research and development activities. The research intern will work in a team, to fulfil organizational goals and initiatives related to research, data analysis, knowledge management and multi-sectoral human and economic development activities.

Profile

Ideal candidates should be passionate about social impact and international development. They must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree related to Economics, public policy, research and statistics, demographic studies, development studies and relevant professional experience. They must be willing to develop their professional skills and contribute to the growth of an organization dedicated to economic and social development. Assist the research lead with activities related to the development and implementation of research projects. Other functions within the job purview include collecting and processing of field data for the survey components, provide administrative support to the research officer.

The ideal candidate should be able to constructively review written documents. Have literature search/survey skills, possess data collection and analysis skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and at least one statistical analysis software, Such as SPSS, Nvivo, R-project.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in developing accurate and efficient tests to be used in surveys that are to be carried out
  2. Assist in Developing training schedule and training notes
  3. Assist in organizing workshops
  4. Assist in creation of work plans and timelines
  5. Working with teams to find solutions to risks and issues and reduce risk and work with stakeholders on appropriate solutions as and when required.
  6. Participate in data collection and analysis
  7. Support data entry, processing, analysis and validation.
  8. Represent and make presentations on behalf of the organization from time to time
  9. Actively participate in client presentations

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors in Economics, research and statistics, demographic studies, public policy, development studies or any other related field.
  2. Minimum of 0-2 years of cognate experience in the development sector, and research.
  3. Multilingual speaker desirable, especially in French
  4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and at least one statistical analysis software, Such as SPSS, Nvivo, R-project.
  5. Self-starter, good time management, creative, with ability to communicate in a professional manner
  6. Experience living and working in different cultures
  7. Must be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, who will thrive by taking ownership and initiative
