JOB BRIEF

The part-time Research Assistant will support the South Asia program on a wide range of research tasks including but not limited to conducting background research, editing, and providing other support.

Hours

Up to 20 hours per week during regular business hours starting as soon as June 2023 with the possibility of extension.

Compensation

$17.00 – $18.00 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist with a wide range of research projects conducted and commissioned by the South Asia program.
* Support the editing process of research publications.
* Support the tracking and maintaining of contacts database.
* Provide administrative and logistical support in planning events.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Current M.A or Ph.D. student studying international relations, comparative politics, South Asian studies, or a related field.
* Knowledge of Indian politics and foreign policy, China-South Asia relations, and South Asia’s political and economic dynamics more broadly.
* Strong research, organizational, and analytical skills.
* Excellent written communication skills.
* Must have the ability to work in a team as well as independently.
