REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)

SERVICES OF CONDUCTING “PROFILING AND GENDER ANALYSIS”

FOR PROJECTS UNDER OXFAM ECONOMIC JUSTICE PROGRAMME’S WORK IN OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORY (OPT)

REF . 22 / 042 / OPTI / GAZA

ABOUT OXFAM

Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

That means we tackle the inequality that keeps people poor. Together we save, protect and rebuild lives. When disaster strikes, we help people build better lives for themselves, and for others. We take on issues like land rights, climate change and discrimination against women. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can enjoy life free from poverty.

We are an international confederation of 19 organizations (affiliates) working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.

All our work is led by three core values: Empowerment, Accountability, Inclusiveness. To read more about our values please click here

PURPOSE OF THIS RFQ

Oxfam is conducting a gender and power analysis, including stakeholder mapping, which will inform the design on Valuing Women’s Work (VWW) program. The aim of the VWW program is to push for economic models that are more just and fair, supporting informal women workers and unpaid carers claim their rights and protection through organizing and collective action. Furthermore, the program aims to push for private sector accountability and government policies to be gender-responsive. The analysis would identify issues and characteristics of targeted group and their local context that will inform the VWW program’s interventions, and activities. The gender analysis will allow Oxfam to identify gender-based systemic challenges and constraints and to assess gender considerations in each of the program’s pillars.

The gender analysis is expected to identify the gender issues and power dynamics in terms of roles, responsibilities, relations, needs, constraints, and opportunities facing the target group and cause gender inequality in the economy. Furthermore, it is expected to recommend interventions and strategies that can address these constraints.

Oxfam is seeking to commission a team of qualified consultants, or consultancy firm with proven expertise and experience in conducting gender analysis and power that focuses on economic development interventions and projects under Oxfam economic justice programme’s work in OPT.
