The responsibilities of this role directly impact the generation of unrestricted revenue through existing donors for CARE. The Renewal Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day production and creative processes for the Renewal Program including Direct Mail (DM) and Telemarketing (TM) campaigns etc. Assures the annual strategic plan is implemented correctly and on schedule. Works with the Offline Fundraising Manager on reporting campaign performance of each mailing as needed. Responsible for communicating the strategic initiatives for each campaign to the Business Operations and Constituent Services teams and creative agency. Responsible for key steps in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring creative strategies for the DM and TM programs. Processes include but are not limited to, participating in strategy sessions and providing input into the creative processes. Communicate with other DM specialists/program managers and outside vendors to ensure creative reflects the strategic objectives established for each mailing and is developed in timely and accurate fashion. Research and work with the Offline Fundraising Manager to select creative resources and ideas to be used in the creative process for each mailing. Assists the Offline Fundraising Manager with budgeting and invoicing responsibilities and some quarterly reports. Employs other donor engagement activities as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Creative Development

    • Communicate with internal teams and vendors to ensure the creative reflects the strategic objectives established for each campaign and is developed in a timely and accurate fashion
    • Research, identify, and recommends creative resources and references to be used in the creative development for each campaign
    • Review strategy document for each campaign from creative agency
    • Manages creative review process from concept to production and provides input on copy and design to ensure objectives are met Acquire special signatures, resources and approvals for campaigns when applicable
    • Routes creative for internal review and compiles comments, suggestions, revisions and approvals from reviewers
    • Works with Manager to determine if comments on creative are applicable and communicates feedback Articulates and or graphically illustrates changes to vendors
    • Responsible for making sure approved changes have been completed
    • Keep apprised of information on CARE’s Program departments and CARE website
    • Responsible for keeping vendors and CARE teams informed of updates and changes applicable to standard and emergencies campaigns
    • Responsible for acquiring and fact checking resource document from creative agency during first round of creative review
    • Review and approve laser set ups including record review in the database of record to assure campaign strategy is being implemented correctly
    • Tracks creative process to ensure all components have been approved and printed Maintain creative samples
    • Responsible initiating the set up of all DM and TM online donation page.
  • Data Management

    • Works with Manager to review and approve test quantity recommendations from vendor and counts pulled from database
    • Works with Manager to review all output and counts
    • Works with Manager to review and approve final counts and cost to outside database vendor Provide account changes to Constituents Service to revise account records in Salesforce
    • Work with Operations to maintain master seed list, communicating changes
    • Quarterly create cost package codes reporting for Salesforce (cost uploads)
  • Program Management

    • Manages day-to-day production and creative
    • Serves as a project manager of the day-to-day process to ensure the quality, timeliness and accuracy of the campaigns
    • Acts as a liaison between Mass Market Fundraising and other CARE departments
    • Ensures all campaigns are developed in line with organizational guidelines (must be up to date on brand guide)
    • Communicates the information to outside creative agency to assure they are provided updated information on CARE’s program activities
    • Serves as a technical advisor to Constituent Services by answering questions and providing clarification on creative and segmentation strategies
    • Maintain and create procedural, creative and program documents Work with Offline Manager to create and maintain DM and TM campaign source codes.
    • Provides Operations with source codes upon request
    • Provides tracking information to the team
    • Maintain document master for DM and TM active URL donation links
    • May provide special reporting as requested
  • Strategic Development

    • Communicates strategic initiatives for each campaign to Constituent Services and Marketing when required
    • Collaborate with creative agency to compile and confirm creative attributes and story ideas upon request
    • Work with Offline Fundraising Manager to align creative copy and production schedule to meet the planned strategy
    • Ensures creative strategic plan is implemented correctly and on schedule
  • Budgeting

    • Codes new invoices and ensures accuracy of worksheets and billing Sends invoices to the
    • Finance department for payment
    • Maintains and files invoices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing or related field
  • 2 – 5 years in Direct Marketing, Project Management, Data Analysis, and Communication
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Microsoft Office (Excel and Word; familiarity and experience with database applications)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
