Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB)

*Cross Border Recovery Handler – FTC for 12 months*

Job role

  • To be a dedicated cross-border recovery handler and handle recovery of claims from foreign bureaux, compensation bodies and guarantee funds
  • To provide an excellent customer experience, while dealing with customers in a helpful, proactive and professional manner

Key Outputs

  • To work in conjunction with company policies and procedures and ensure that all data protection requirements are complied with
  • To identify rejections and swiftly escalate to G9 Cross Border Recovery Handler. If necessary help deal with them in a manner that gives the MIB the best possible recovery outcome, including prioritising deadlines under the Council of Bureaux Internal Regulations
  • To build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues within the MIB and contacts from foreign bureaux, compensation bodies and guarantee funds
  • To be outcomes focused in delivering the best result for the MIB and its members
  • To use judgment in escalating and referring claims to G9 Cross Border Recovery Handler
  • To contribute in creating and maintaining a high performing culture
  • Liaising with external stakeholders as necessary

Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a credit collection environment is ideal but not necessary.
  • Ability to collect and analyse relevant information to support effective decision making.
  • Attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy.
  • Computer literate, including experience of using MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent listening and inquiring skills, with the ability to extract detailed and relevant information.
  • Some insurance experience, including in cross-border claims is an advantage.

Salary up to £22,000 depending on experience

35 hours per week

Our office is based in Linford Wood, Milton Keynes

Currently working from home, moving to hybrid working in Q2 2022
