Who are we?

Mission Edge, headquartered in San Diego, invests in social interest organizations by providing operational services (Accounting, Finance, and HR), fiscal sponsorship, social enterprise planning and acceleration lab, and skills-based volunteers that enable organizations to do more good.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • At least 10 years accounting experience
  • Quickbooks experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Full cycle accounting experience (strong understanding of GAAP)
  • Wizard like Excel skills
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Mad customer service skills
  • Ability to balance the demands of multiple clients at once
  • Legit problem solving skills

  • Experience working with multiple clients at once
  • Non profit accounting experience

What will you be doing:

You will be helping social driven organizations be successful by being their “easy button” for their accounting. You will handle it all from soup to nuts which will allow them to focus on raising money and doing all the good they can do in the world. What makes your role special is that these orgs will rely on you to support them during good times and bad, to grow with them, and to be the rock that provides a solid financial foundation to build upon. So in accounting speak, how are you going to do that? You are going to:

  • Maintain an organized general ledger and chart of accounts
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, monthly reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close
  • Ensure prompt and accurate monthly closing of books
