Work Assignment

The incumbent work assignment falls under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Iraq Office, and the overall supervision of Senior Project Manager and the direct supervision of the Public Information Officer, the consultant will implement the tasks and responsibilities under the “Revive the Spirit of Mosul” Initiative.

Long Description

I. In this regard, the Consultant main duties and responsibilities are as the following:

1- Produce 20 high-resolution videos for the activities and progress in the Al Nouri Mosque complex, and Al Saa’a and Al Tahira Churches (footage with montage) and raw footage.

2-Provide 1500 high-quality resolution photographs of the activities and progress in the Al Nouri Mosque complex, and Al Saa’a and Al Tahira Churches.

3-The photographer shall produce 2 human interest stories related to the UAE-funded Project, each month through the duration of the 11-month contract. 22 videos in total.

4-The photographer will document ongoing works on all the included sites throughout the duration of the contract and as instructed by UNESCO Team.

II. Timetable And Deliverables

  • Contract Duration:

The duration of this contract is eleven months, starting indicatively/ tentatively from March 2022 until January 2023, with three months probationary period.

  • Contract Deliverables:

The Consultant shall submit the video and photos of the sites on a regular basis; all contents must be provided no later than the end of each scheduled reporting period.

  • Payment schedule:

Upon receiving and validating edited materials for the period from March 22 to January 23, UNESCO will pay the amount of 1,900 USD at the end of each month based on the deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Academic qualifications: 1- No specific educational background is required for this position. a degree in videography, radio/TV, film, mass communications, journalism or any other related field is desirable.
  • Professional experience: 1- Experience in event photography/filming. Experiences in working with international organizations, or United Nations, is an asset. 2- Strong editing skills with sound knowledge of relevant photography software and programs 3- At least 5 years of working experience in photography, videography, or any equivalent experience.
  • Language: 1- Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English oral, written, comprehension.
