Psychologist

Position goal:

Psychologist’s primary role is to function as the supervisor of the mental health team in the Gaziantep office related to the IPIL project, project scope are to evaluate, diagnosing, and treating people for mental, emotional, behavioral, educational, and developmental disorders

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and support the project team in the development and implementation of psychosocial support activities.
  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of all activities planned by the team towards the beneficiaries
  • Review and follow up the psychosocial support activities for each beneficiary.
  • Assisting and training staff members and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of MH activities in coordination with the project’s specialist.
  • Identification and case management of children and adults in need of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
  • Perform psychological assessments, testing, and evaluation and Provide diagnosis.
  • Filling in the working tools for identification and follow-up: surveys and follow-up sheets, etc;
  • Making referrals to other support services for beneficiaries, in line with the specific needs identified and the range of services available.
  • Implementing the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to available services.
  • Promote knowledge of child rights, child protection, and gender issues among beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential.
  • Evaluate the team according to their knowledge and performance.
  • Hold coordination meetings with partners and active organizations who work in the mental health field
  • Report, document, and follow up on problematic cases on a case-by-case basis in collaboration with the project team members.
  • Prepare periodical activity reports.
  • Other duties related to the scope of the project.
  • Turkish nationality is preferred
  • Excellent in Arabic, Turkish is optional.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
  • 3-5 years of relevant and progressive experience as psychologist
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of protection and children’s rights, human rights, gender and SGBV.
  • Strong working knowledge of diagnostic techniques and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Strong familiarity with assessment techniques.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be extremely flexible and have the ability to cope with stressful situations.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).
