General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population.

Since its establishment in 2016, Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering programmes spanning sectors, including humanitarian and development programmes, in the Early Recovery, Food Security, Agriculture, Livelihoods, Education, and Protection, in addition to long-term impact interventions focusing on the economic empowerment and the local value chains improvements to enable targeted communities to improve their living practices and their sustainable mechanisms.

Orange collaborates with a variety of national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives, to adopt a community-based approach that leads to improving the response’s impact to the humanitarian crisis, and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.

Job Purpose:

The PSS Worker will provide group Psycho-Social Service through comprehensive assessment, recovery planning, implementation and overall evaluation of individual needs and additional ways of support in additional to conducting awareness sessions and outreach visits in the community on a regular basis.

Duties, objectives, and competencies:

  • Working affectively with the other team members to ensure a high quality of work with full respect of the Humanitarian Work Principles.
  • Participating in linking the beneficiaries with the suitable services to their needs when it exceeds the PSS Workers skills including the coordination with other service providers to fulfill the additional needs of the beneficiaries.
  • Providing the needed psychoeducation to the beneficiaries and their care givers and family members.
  • Building the PSS support based on the beneficiaries’ strengths and supportive real elements in their lives.
  • Taking in consideration the reported evaluations of Beneficiaries’ satisfaction into consideration to improve the PSS service quality.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of beneficiaries’ information documented in the assessment forms and the clinical soft and hard copies with ensuring good quality of documentation of the beneficiaries’ files and information.
  • Participating in the ongoing group and individual technical supervision sessions.
  • Providing weekly/monthly regular updates and reports to the supervisor.
  • Participating in raising awareness regarding MHPSS disorders and the rights of people who suffer from them on both individual and the community level.
  • Supporting field visits to identify adults and children to participate in psychosocial support activities.
  • Preparing different psychosocial support activities to suit the needs of adults and children.
  • Creating weekly and monthly plans
  • Conducting outreach visits to the communities on a regular basis.
  • Active participation in advocacy campaigns and celebration of world days related to MHPSS such as (World Mental Health Day, international Day for people with disability…etc.).
  • Facilitating group activities for beneficiaries and group activities of care providers of the beneficiaries.

Requirements:

  • A university degree in the relevant field of study (e.g., bachelor of psychological counseling /Psychology / Sociology or any related field of study.
  • Previous experience working on PSS is preferred.
  • A basic understanding of e-mail and filling out electronic forms for beneficiaries is preferred.
  • Commitment to the basic morals of working with vulnerable people and respecting confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in the same time.
  • Ability to conduct individual and group awareness raising sessions and group activities specifically in MHPSS issues.
  • Having strong communication skills and able to work with people from different cultures.
  • Turkish Nationality is required.
