We Need

We are looking for a project officer to work predominantly with the Packaging & Recyclability team, however there may also be opportunities to work with other members of the wider RECOUP team to support project delivery.

Essential

  • An interest in sustainability/protecting the natural environment and an enthusiasm for learning about the waste and recycling of plastics
  • A well-organised person with the ability to multitask, working on several projects simultaneously and meeting agreed deadlines
  • Adaptable and able to respond to change
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience of communicating effectively to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as playing an effective part in a team
  • Good relationship management skills to develop and maintain links with relevant stakeholders, members, and professional bodies.
  • Willingness and ability to work in laboratory settings and undertake site visits.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly MS Office and Google.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Key Responsibilities

As a Projects Officer, you will work within a busy Peterborough based team to deliver and support a variety of initiatives and projects relating to plastic packaging and products. You will be given training and support in the role. Key tasks:

  • Providesupport to the Project manager and senior management team. This includes assisting with research, project tracking and analysis, preparation, and presentation of reports.
  • Responding to questions and requests for information from members of RECOUP, including relaying information from the waste management industry as to the recyclability of packaging designs.
  • Conducting off-site testing at recovery facilities; and analysis where required, producing case studies and reports, and assisting with laboratory work.
  • Communicating with stakeholders and members to promote RECOUP to the wider industry, this includes preparing and attending internal and external meeting and working groups.
  • Working with other departments, coordinating and delivering projects and tasks successfully and on time.

Support will be given to develop sector specific knowledge.
