This role will help us to do this by ensuring compliance with regulatory standards set by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) and ensure that Irwell Valley Homes is following best practice in governance.

In this key strategic role, you will be responsible for

Managing key relationships with the Board and ensuring that the Board remains effective with the optimum mix of skills and training.

Oversight of the overall the combined assurance framework of the organisation and directly responsible for key elements of this.

Acting as or supporting the Company Secretary and ensuring that all entities within the organisation comply with statutory, regulatory, and constitutional requirements.

Oversight of and support for H&S governance across the organisation

Leading on Board development and establishing a framework of standards

Commissioning a governance review every three years, oversee the project management of the review, and ensure implementation of recommended actions.

We need people who are / have

Held a similar role, providing expert advice, support and challenge in all aspects of governance and regulation

Experience of forward planning, project management (including of external consultants) and managing implementation of action plans

Establishing and developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of seniority, including managing relationships with Board and senior leadership colleagues

With a clear understanding of housing legislation/ regulation and awareness of sector developments, you’ll have an understanding of best practice in relation to governance in housing
