General Description of the Organization:

Ghiras Al-Nahda is a Nonprofit Non-governmental humanitarian organization working to empower people through fulfilling their basic needs and seeking to improve community stability and resilience.

Job purpose:

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and implementing education and protection related to the Syria response remotely from Turkey. The role will involve managing project teams, ensuring project objectives are met, developing project plans and budgets, overseeing project implementation, and monitoring project progress. The Project Manager will work closely with the Program Coordinator, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure project activities align with organizational objectives and donor requirements.

Duties & Objectives:

Project Management and Development:

  • Manage project implementation in line with project objectives, budget, timeline, and donor requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project field teams and partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress and prepare project reports for donors and management.
  • Follow up on the budget expenses and forecast in coordination with the finance department.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as donor regulations and requirements.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that project activities are implemented in accordance with humanitarian principles and that the needs of beneficiaries are met.
  • Review the complaints with MEAL according to GAN CRM policy to find optimal solutions.
  • Ensure that all project information is organized and accessible according to the GAN archiving structure.
  • Creating weekly and monthly and participating in the annual program reports.
  • Develop and maintain a reporting schedule, ensuring that reports are submitted to donors and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Collect and compile data from the field team and other sources, ensuring that data is accurate and complete.
  • Develop narrative reports, highlighting project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Provide feedback to the field team and other stakeholders on the quality of reports and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all reporting is conducted in compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as donor regulations and requirements.
  • Participate in the development of project proposals, plans, budgets, and work plans in collaboration with the program team and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in the preparation of annual program plans and development.

Coordination, capacity building, and representation

  • Attend the periodic cluster meeting, show GAN activities through participation and presentations, and prepare reports.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and other events related to the Syria response.
  • Represent GAN in different coordination meetings and events when nominated by the HoP.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the field team, including training and capacity building.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of field staff and provide feedback to ensure high-quality project implementation.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with the field team leader and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Education Management, International Child studies, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing humanitarian projects, preferably in a conflict-affected context (education and/or protection).
  • Excellent project management skills, including project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of donor regulations and requirements, particularly related to humanitarian assistance
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
