ROLE PURPOSE:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for assuring efficient and high-quality implementation of immunization project that will result to increase full immunization coverage (FIC) for priority eligible populations especially (1) children 0-12 mos for polio, tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, and measles, (2) children 5-17 years old for Covid-19; (3) pregnant women for tetanus, and (4) elderly adult population for COVID-19. The postholder will work closely with the Head of Office and Technical Advisor to develop detailed implementation plans for project activities, developing appropriate implementation tools to track progress and monitor the context. The postholder will also build capacity, and identify capacity needs, of field staff to ensure they are able to implement activities to a high standard. He/she will also liaise with other actors to ensure smooth planning and effective coordination of multi sectoral programming in covered areas or cluster of barangays/municipalities. He/she will be the primary focal person in organizing and mobilizing partners, stakeholders’ and institutions. He/she will be the on-site representative of Save the Children in courtesy meetings/planning with key stakeholders at the Regional and Provincial government agencies and for barangay officials and the community at large.

1.Responsible for the attainment of the following immediate result of the project:

·Improved access to essential immunization and vaccination services in targeted areas in Region 8 and BARMM for the identified eligible population of 0-12 months, 5-17 y/o, pregnant women and elderly.

·Increased capacity of health systems, from district- to community-level, to protect and expand routine vaccination while preparing to respond to future outbreaks/epidemics/pandemics.

2.The post holder is primarily responsible for community engagement and coordination in an assigned SCP geographical area in Lanao Del Sur.

3.The post holder oversees and provide technical support to CSO partners and ensure an integrated multi sectoral program of activities is established in each barangay of implementation.

4.The post holder will input into the area strategy, play a key role in assessments and ensure community engagement and coordination is cohesive across both the area and for all technical sectors.

5.The Project Coordinator will represent Save the Children in communities and with stakeholders, e.g. community leaders, representatives from donors, government, and other agencies as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

·Bachelors Degree

·Organisation, management and negotiation skills

·Good communication skills

·Previous experience in humanitarian setting

·Prepared to work under pressure

·Honest and motivated

·Knowledge of Leyte Province implementation areas

·Previous experience working with humanitarian organizations

·Able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc)

Desirable

·At least 2 years previous experience managing people and implementing development programs.

·At least 2 years experience in Implementing Health Related Program especially immunization.

·Able to work with minimum level of supervision

·Good English speaking and writing
