Context:

Under the overall supervision of the National Private Sector Engagement Officer, and under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Assistant (Capacity Building), the successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support related to the implementation of capacity building activities related to the ethical recruitment of different actors in global supply chains and private sector engagement.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Support the delivery and roll out of ethical recruitment due diligence training to the private sector.
  2. Train global supply chain actors to develop and implement due diligence on ethical recruitment.
  3. Assist in preparing specialized and engaging training course materials for supply chain actors in different industries globally. This includes supporting the development of PowerPoints and the research work to produce relevant case studies.
  4. Coordinate with IOM focal points in other countries for the localized roll out of ethical recruitment due diligence training sessions.
  5. Developing ethical recruitment due diligence tools for employers of migrant workers and the recruitment agencies that they work with.
  6. Provide input into training plans for the capacity building activities of suppliers of global brands and their partner recruitment agencies.
  7. Assist in coordinating the translation of the tools and training materials in local language(s) are accurate and functioning.
  8. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • University degree in the field of Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Sustainability or a related field from an accredited academic institution with minimum three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Solid experience in providing and facilitating quality training sessions.
  • Experience in humanitarian and/or development assistance work with Government, NGOs and INGOs; an advantage.
  • Experience in the field of labor migration and/or supply chains; an advantage.

Skills

  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of issues related to labour migration, labour and human rights, ethical trading practices, and the SDGs is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Strong quantitative business analysis skills, attention to detail, and high level of accuracy
  • Intermediate or basic-intermediate excel skills is an asset

Languages

For this position, fluency in English (oral and written) and Filipino is required.

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment and verification of residency, visa, and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable.

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
