  • To facilitate in the restoration of boys’ and girls’ access to safe and supportive learning environment in the communities affected by TY Odette by ensuring continuity of education through distance/blended learning in formal and non-formal education.

Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1: Continuous access of enrolled/registered boys and girls to formal and non-formal education in TY Rai/Odette affected areas

  • Support and ensure inclusive participation and effective coordination with the Department of Education from the Division, Districts, schools, and communities and affected communities related to providing technical support, provision of equipment and learning kits, and installation of the community-based learning kiosks.
  • Mobilize and train community volunteers, teachers, and youth council leaders on protection and safeguarding, risk communication and disease prevention, and facilitating safe learning interactions among children and young people.
  • Support the project engineers in identifying and conducting technical assessments in areas damaged by TY Odette for the installation of the learning kiosks.
  • Lead the identification, request, and replacement of school supplies and equipment to ensure learning continuity.
  • Support coordination, planning, and refurbishing of the Learning Kiosks and ensure sustainability mechanisms by advocating funding support from the barangay.
  • Identify other forms of support to ensure compliance to COVID-19 health protocols, IPC, and access to WASH-related to repair and rehabilitation of the learning kiosks and the schools.
  • Prepare all necessary the documents as source of verification.
  • Collect and update data on access and utilization of the learning kiosk by beneficiaries

Objective 2: Effective Coordination, collaboration, and synergies with other sectors and humanitarian actors

  • Ensure planned activities are closely coordinated and consulted with school, youth leaders, community leaders, and clusters.
  • Coordinate and ensure AAH’s sectoral interventions/activities are complementing each other.
  • Ensure tools and approaches are standardized across the consortium related to Education in Emergencies.

Objective 3: Ensure proper monitoring and reporting of activities

  • Report to the Head of Project issues and challenges faced in the field and implement the activities and context related issues affecting the planned activities
  • Ensuring the quality of the data collected from the field.
  • Make suggestions/recommendations to HOP on readjusting the program based on the results and the context, as needed.
  • Coordinate with local DepEd and local authorities, and monitor functionality, access and utilization of repaired Learning kiosks.

Do you meet the profile required criteria?

Training: University/college graduate in Education, Public Health, Social Work, or other relevant education and social sciences degrees, and technical qualification

Technical Knowledge:

  • Knowledgeable on Philippine Education System, Protection, COVID-19, RCEE, Information and Technology, and Health Promotion in
  • Familiarity with Education in Emergencies standards
  • Familiarity with the education systems (Formal and Non-Formal)
  • Mobilization and support to health activities in emergencies
  • Create space for inclusive participation of affected communities, particularly for vulnerable groups
  • Familiarity with the local culture, ability to develop respect from a wide range of people, and strong ability to communicate on education, child and youth welfare, and emergencies.

Experience: at least 2yrs in a similar position

Language: Excellent English and Filipino language. Can confidently converse in Cebuano or Bohol’s local dialects is an advantage

IT systems: With good working knowledge on how to use Microsoft Office package e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and TEAMS
