We also respond to disasters and emergencies, helping people in crisis. We are a group of committed specialized graduates representing various intellectual backgrounds of our society. We have set up an independent non-governmental organization under the name of Dijla Agricultural Association (DAA).

Dijla is interested in development programs and are keen on the development of various sectors of local economy, husbandry and industry. Our activities and objectives include the setting up of modern and advanced model projects that will contribute positively to the local economy, tackling unemployment and to help the scientific research sector in the country.

 

Scope of Work:

DAA is seeking a qualified individual to join their team and work as a Project Assistant in their base in Mosul with frequent travel to the district of Hatra to help in the implementation of the WASH Project.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist in conducting assessments in collaboration with DAA staff.
  • Supporting WASH Engineer in WASH activities as required.
  • Conduct the implementation and monitoring of all activities, at field level, as laid out in the plan of action.
  • Manage the effective and proper use of assets, financial resources, and facilities according to standard procedures in order to comply with auditing requirements.
  • Scan and file (soft and hard copies) financial and administrative documents.
  • Prepare adequate administrative and financial documentation necessary for implementation of assigned tasks.
  • Work as part of a team and liaise with other departments to ensure effective communication across the organization.
  • Support beneficiary’s identification and selection processes together with the Project Officer and WASH Engineer.
  • Make field arrangements for planned field visits to project locations.
  • Assist the Project Officer in the preparation of all documents and forms necessary for the implementation of the project.
  • Assist the Project Officer in coordinating activities with local authorities, community members, other implementing actors and partners at the local level.
  • Maintain coordination and appropriate information sharing and communication lines with partners and stakeholders at field level to avoid duplication and maximize synergies.
  • Regularly monitor project activities and provide timely inputs and feedback.
  • Assist in the facilitation of trainings for volunteers and beneficiaries.
  • Assist to set up a clear beneficiary follow-up mechanism and ensure that appropriate follow-ups are made to support the beneficiaries.
  • Collect information for work plans, regular donor progress and impact reports.
  • Translating documents, recording meetings minutes, registering and treating information (general and specific) accurately and with confidentiality.
  • Support in the development of lessons learned to improve the implementation of Project activities.
  • Maintaining photo documentation of project activities to be shared with DAA Mosul office.

  • Any other tasks as directed by supervisor.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related Civil engineering, Business administration or related field of work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Very good understanding of local government relevant rules and policies.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic & English.
  • Good computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point. etc.
  • At least two years’ work experience in a related field.
  • Good understanding of developing implementation plans and monitoring systems and ensuring project activities are implemented to a high standard in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to analyze information.
  • Ability to work under stress and within tight deadlines.
