Project Accountant

Project Accountant opportunity available working on the new multi-modal Transport Hub will replace the existing Europa and Great Victoria Street bus and rail stations. This project will be integral in shaping the future of the city and promoting sustainable transport. We are seeking a talented and ambitious qualified accountant to manage the financial administration of a Joint Venture Project

Main Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly and annual financial/management reports.
  • Keep and maintain financial records for the Joint Venture (JV) undertaking, including operating JV Bank accounts.
  • Analyse and maximise the financial performance of the project.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC VAT and construction industry specific tax legislation, and other statutory requirements.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with all accounting systems and control procedures, for example Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Other duties commensurate with the job role as directed by the Joint Venture Board.
  • Liaising and working with senior management as required
  • Ad hoc project work

Skills and experience required

  • Qualified accountant, with at least 2 years post qualified experience
  • Competent user of the complete Microsoft suite, with in-depth knowledge of Excel
  • Must have a full UK Driving License
  • Professional and commercial manner: discrete and confidential
  • Ability to take responsibility, ownership and to see matters through to a conclusion within sometimes tight deadline
  • Developed organisational and administration skills, evidenced by the ability to prioritise, multi-task and achieve deadlines
  • Desirable – Experience of an Integrated Accounting System and construction industry
