
Christian Aid
Role purpose
The role involves supporting and managing Christian Aid projects, partnerships and country programme, including facilitating disbursement of funds to Christian Aid partners working on the country programme. To ensure that project resources and planned project activities are undertaken within budget and time frame to enable meaningful impact to target communities. The role will contribute to the implementation of the Christian Aid’s global and country strategies. To contribute in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning for effective and timely support to partner organisations and other project stakeholders. The role is also expected to deliver effectively on internal and external communications, reporting, safe programming, accountability, fundraising and representing Christian Aid in relevant platforms.
Key outcomes
• Ensure the ICSP and other assigned project resources and activities are delivered within budget and time-frames in compliance with CA’s programme quality standards and organisational strategy.
• Inclusion, gender, safeguarding and accountability to affected populations are embedded in the ICSP project both within Christian Aid and in partner organisations.
• Compliance with CA and donors programme quality standards, financial policies and procedures.
• Coordinated, accurate, timely, and effective reporting in line with CA internal and external donor reporting requirements.
• Effective and efficient systems administration, receipts, reports and other documentation from partners are accurately recorded in CA’s information and programme Management Systems and filed both manually and electronically.
• Positive partnerships maintained and developed with local implementing partners and other stakeholders through effective communication, collaboration and coordination.
• Contribution to country programme development, team cohesion,
• Support development of proposals and implementation of partner capacity building initiatives.
• Strong linkages between partner work and advocacy, communications, and fundraising roles within Christian Aid.
Applied skills/knowledge and expertise
Essential
• Degree or equivalent in social sciences, development studies or similar
• 5 years’ experience working with institutional donor funding, reporting, proposal development and strategy management. • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
• Relevant and progressive experience of working with partners to deliver high quality programmes
• Direct experience and capacity in conducting partner assessments, developing partnerships and managing consortiums.
• Familiarity with programme cycle management approaches and tools – including Gender and Social Inclusion, Gender Analysis framework and feminist principles.
• Must have experience of data collection and reporting (including basic financial reporting) and good organisational ability
• Knowledge and experience on the application of CHS and Safeguarding principles
Must have a knowledge of the country context, advocacy and an understanding of how civil society operates.
• Ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic multicultural and across teams within an organisation
• Strong research skills, monitoring, evaluation and learning
Desirable
• Strong local languages skills
• Knowledge of gender, inclusion and approaches.
• Relevant post graduate qualification in development or humanitarian discipline
