Position Summary:

The Programme Manager will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the Interest-Free-Loans for Micro-Entrepreneurs (IFLE) programme in Pakistan. The IFLE programme aims to provide interest-free loans, advice, training, and other entrepreneurship development services to micro-entrepreneurs in Pakistan, with the goal of promoting economic growth and empowerment among this population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the IFLE programme, including all necessary systems and processes
  • Identify and secure funding for the programme, including from government agencies, international organizations, and private sector partners
  • Manage the IFLE programme budget and ensure financial sustainability
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of staff and volunteers to implement the programme
  • Develop and deliver training and support for micro-entrepreneurs, including financial literacy, business planning, and market research
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, financial institutions, and local partners
  • Monitor and evaluate the programme’s progress, making adjustments as necessary
  • Provide regular reports on the programme’s impact and progress to funders, partners, and other stakeholders

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in programme management, preferably in the microfinance or entrepreneurship development field
  • Strong understanding of microfinance and entrepreneurship development in the context of Pakistan
  • Proven experience in project management and implementation
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in securing funding and building partnerships is a plus
  • Strong understanding of the local micro-entrepreneurial ecosystem and their needs.
  • Strong understanding of local laws, regulations and compliance requirements in terms of micro-financing and lending
  • Strong understanding of local banking systems and other financial institutions and their products and services.
  • Strong understanding of local accounting and bookkeeping practices.
  • Strong understanding of the local business environment and market conditions.
  • Strong understanding of local culture, customs and traditions and how they impact business practices.
