Tearfund’s Eurasia and North Africa team is currently recruiting for an experienced Programme Development and Quality Lead as a senior leader in the ENA regional team who is able to support country teams develop, implement and evaluate strong country strategies; to build and lead a team of specialists, able to provide outstanding support to ENA country programmes in various technical areas; and to support the development of winning proposals for external funding.

The role closely coordinates with the Regional Director, Country Directors and other key regional and country staff, the Thematic Support Team in the UK, the Strategy and Impact Group in the UK, the corporate priorities coordinators, and has a strong learning element, sharing learning upwards and outwards in the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree and/or equivalent qualification in humanitarian, development, management or any related field.
  • Substantial experience in a similar position at regional/managerial level.
  • Extensive progressive experience in the areas relevant to this position, such as implementing relief and development projects in a humanitarian environment, and strategy and impact, and sectoral experience.
  • Experience in budgeting and finance management.
  • Experience of oversight of compliance and security.

You will also have:

  • Strong leadership, influencing and other people management skills.
  • Proven ability of working effectively in teams from multicultural contexts.
  • Training and mentoring skills
  • Facilitation Skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably Arabic.
  • Negotiation and representation skills.
  • Good knowledge of donor reporting and financial requirements.
