    ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

    This job is found in WFP Yemen Country Office, Marib and the incumbent will be reporting to the Programme Policy Officer.

    Job holders at this level demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. Job holders manage resources and coach and coordinate a team of security support staff. These jobs may require to report for duty on short notice.

    JOB PURPOSE

    To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various activities and processes related to CBT livelihood & resilience activities in line with WFP’s wider programme policies and guidelines.
    • Provide necessary support for the targeting & registration process, SCOPE registration
    • Provide specialized project management support to the design and implementation of transitional resilience livelihood activities to ensure that the activities are performed within the established and design targets following WFP’s policies and procedures.
    • Prepare a range of reports and data analysis to understand the food security status of beneficiaries.
    • Work as a CBT & resilience focal point for the field office.
    • Explore possibilities/innovations for the transition of relief assistance into transitional activities that will integrated food security, livelihood, and resilience approach for Marib Field Office.
    • Conduct regular field visits to ensure effective delivery of WFP’s assistance in terms of CBT and livelihood activities.
    • Effectively Liaise with CBT, Livelihood & VAM units in the Area Office and the Country Office while implementing school feeding and nutrition activities in the Marib FO’s area of responsibility.
    • Regularly coordinate with the Area Office supply chain to ensure timely deliveries of relief commodities, traders warehouse etc.
    • Coordinate with WFP’s cooperating partners, local authorities, UN agencies, and NGOs to perform accurate food and nutrition security analyses and to ensure efficient implementation of programme activities

    • Support capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners, and local government within the specific technical area.
    • Oversee and/or review the work of other support staff, providing practical advice and guidance, to contribute to delivering objectives to agreed standards and deadlines.
    • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
    • Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data within the field of nutrition and school feeding and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.

    Standard Minimum Qualifications

    Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.

    Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.

    Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.

    Desired Experiences For Entry Into The Role

    • Has previous experience in designing and or implementing General Food Assistance, Cash Based Trasnfers & Livelihood activities.
    • Has experience working in the field of food secuirty/nutrition sensitive food systems.
    • Has experience of conducting nutrition related surveys/ assessments.
    • Good communication and writing skills.

    • WFP staff who are still under probation period are not eligible to apply for another FT position.
    • WFP staff on FT contracts must have completed one year in the current position to be eligible to apply for another FT position.
