ROLE PURPOSE:

The Program Liaison Officer will provide overall coordination support to ensure effective and efficient implementation of SERG activities. The position will be embedded in the Department of Education’s Chief of Staff Unit to coordinate and support the successful implementation of SERG. The Program Liaison Officer will receive direct tasks from the Department of Education Chief of Staff and will provide fortnightly written reports to the SERG team leader every two weeks. The Program Liaison Officer’s performance is the responsibility of the SERG Team Leader with inputs from the Chief of Staff.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential knowledge or experience
 Good understanding of the Department of Education and its current priorities
 Good understanding of teacher development program and how this works in DepEd
 Strong analytical and communication skills, including writing of summaries, briefing notes, and short reports
 Basic knowledge and understanding of Teacher Professional Development of DepEd
 Strong people skills including liaison and coordination skills
 Adept with the use of MS Office software, etc.
Skills / Abilities
 Formal qualifications and experience in fields related to Education
 Demonstrated experience working in the development sector in the delivery of donor-funded programs
 Direct experience of working with DepEd and a good understanding of the requirements of working within such an organization; Ability to navigate the dynamics within the OSEC and other offices within DepEd and capacity to push the SERG priorities in a diplomatic manner
 Team player
 Self-starter; Ability to take initiative; Can work with minimal supervision
 Level-headed and mature; can rise above and manage stressful situations

Required qualifications and/or accreditations
University degree in international development, education or related field, or equivalent training/experience Master’s degree a plus.
