Project Overview and Role:

Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia (AASAM) is managed by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and is administered by Palladium. It is a multi-country program with service delivery offices in Colombo, Dhaka, Islamabad, Kathmandu, Thimphu and Ulaanbaatar.

Australia Awards are provided to build the skills and knowledge of individuals so that they can contribute to their country’s development, and to support the ongoing development of links between Australia and the countries to which it provides development assistance. The Australia Awards are an important part of the Australian Government’s focus on public and economic diplomacy, and provide long term Scholarships, Short Courses and other training opportunities.

The Program Coordinator, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Solutions provides a wide range of development, pro curement and coordination services to administer Short Courses and Australian Professional Opportunities (APOs). The role involves a mix of strategic (development, researching best practices) and operational (coordination, procurement, and contract management) support.

The Program Coordinator works closely with, and reports to the Manager, CPD Solutions. They will also work closely with other AASAM team members and Palladium corporate personnel.

The Program Coordinator will develop and foster external and internal relationships, liaise directly with sub-contracted personnel and organisations (external stakeholders), the client, and seek opportunities to develop relationships with the broader international education/learning and development industry in Australia and beyond.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate implementation of processes for all CPD activities and provide support to the Manager, CPD Solutions to maintain and improve business processes;
Monitor and review deliverables and associated milestones in conjunction with the Manager, CPD Solutions;
Manage and maintain a database of training providers and professional development activities in Australia;
Represent the program and organisation at events and meetings as required;
Contribute to the production of high-quality Program plans and reports;
Liaise with providers in Australia on a range of matters relating to implementation of short courses and APOs;
Track, co-ordinate, and manage CPD activity expenditure and forecasts; &
Comply with DFAT and Palladium policies, procedures, practices and quality systems.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

Demonstrated experience in program and/or project coordination or management and the use of tools to efficiently plan, implement, monitor, report and evaluate activities and finances in accordance with required standards;
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, use initiative, and show resilience and flexibility in response to change;
Demonstrated ability to contribute ideas to enhance delivery of activities;
Understanding, or the ability to quickly develop understanding of the Australian tertiary education landscape; &
Demonstrated ability to review, revise and produce documentation to professional standards.

Desired:

Relevant qualifications in events management, education, international development, international relations or project management;
Knowledge of the Australian Aid Program and Australia Awards;
Knowledge of the South Asia region and awareness of cultural sensitivities
