Position Summary

This is a junior-level position responsible for supporting business development and administrative work in the Communities in Transition (CIT) Division. The incumbent interfaces with other divisions including business development, finance and contracts, talent acquisition, knowledge management, and operations as well as external partners to develop and implement strategies and plans for successful capture and proposal development across CIT.

Reporting & Supervision

The Associate works under general supervision and reports to the Business Development Director of CIT Division

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather tools, templates, and other materials to support CIT’s business development and administrative processes and procedures, as well as share information, skills, and learning with CIT division members
  • Maintain accurate information about business development opportunities in internal databases and assist with analysis of proposal development data
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic files and ensure that relevant information is accessible to and circulated to the CIT division members
  • Support CIT’s Business Development Director, Practice Areas, Vice President and Director of Finance & Operations to implement business development strategies and reach annual targets in collaboration with relevant stakeholders (regional business development teams, country offices, etc.)
  • Support internal process improvements, CIT administration, and operations as requested
  • Provide support for Division Operational tasks

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • BA in International Affairs, International Development, or similar field with at least four years of work experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and expertise in the international development industry
  • Exposure to USAID proposals
  • Proficiency in a second language, preferably Spanish, French, or Arabic
