Practice Development Nurse – Surgical Oncology

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Surgical Oncology at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust for a dynamic and inspirational Practice Development Nurse to support our nursing teams.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a level of enthusiasm and commitment that will support the development of our staff in order to develop their professional goals and build on basic and specialist skills.

It is essential that you have excellent clinical skills, recent experience and a background knowledge of surgical nursing and/or oncology nursing. Experience in altered airway management and/or drain management would also be desirable.

The surgical oncology directorate comprises Head & Neck, ENT & Thoracic inpatients as well as ENT, Breast and Gynae Oncology outpatients.

You will work closely with the matrons and ward sisters in supporting staff by providing education, training, teaching and assessment within the clinical setting. The role involves the supervision of new starters, students and apprentice nurse associates and the development of training programmes within the directorate.
