Objective
Save the Children Ukraine is looking to establish a consultancy agreement for adapting the available methodology and providing the Training of Trainers (ToT).
The primary objective of the assignment is to amend the existing methodology and materials for child training, particularly condensing it from 5 days to meet a 2-day or 3-day length (to be decided based on the suggestions from the consultant at the inception stage) and to focus it on child rights campaigning/advocacy, and to deliver a training of trainers (ToT) on the adapted methodology.
Building on existing training resources, the consultant will be expected to develop training content tailored to the Ukrainian context. Training modules should include detailed session plans, handouts, reading materials and facilitation guides.
This consultancy will require work under the technical supervision of the Advocacy Director at Save the Children. The consultant will be in regular communication with Save the Children staff via email, audio or video conferencing, and incorporate feedback from the Save the Children in the deliverables.

Location and official travel involved
The work can be carried out remotely for the most part, while ensuring availability by the means of online communication. However, the consultant will be required to travel to the venue to conduct the ToT training.
Services the Supplier will provide
- Analyze all the existing documents/training modules, materials and manuals available for training on child rights and child campaigning/advocacy, to narrow it down and shorten to meet a 2/3-day length (to be agreed at the inception stage);
- Develop a proposal for the training curriculum, including the training objectives, training topics and duration based on the existing materials;
- Develop the training material, including power point presentations, assignments, handouts, group work and interactive materials, facilitators’ notes, identification of further reading/references, or any other supporting materials identified as necessary for the achievement of the training objectives;
- Submit the draft version of the comprehensive set of training materials to Save the Children for approval;
- Deliver a 2/3-day length ToT training on child rights campaigning;
- Develop a brief lesson learnt document for further actions.
Both content and format/layout of the training must comply with international standards, including:
- Emotionally safe;
- Inclusive and non-discriminatory;
- Gender-sensitive;
- Respectful and non-intrusive;
- Fun (variations and creative);
- Do no harm;
- Centered around the Best Interest of the Child.
Experience and skill set required
Interested candidates/suppliers should have at least the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years work experience relevant to the function;
- Demonstrated expertise on working with children and adolescents;
- Extensive experience in developing content for training using interactive and blended learning;
- Background in sociology, political science, or human rights would be an asset;
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian is desired, fluency in English is a must;
- Demonstrated capacity to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
