Public Health Expert and Project Manager based in Kosovo (100%)

In the frame of a long-term project we offer a management assignment in a stimulating work environment in the heart of Pristina with an interdisciplinary team of staff. Within the Integrated Health Services Project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Corporation (SDC), your various and interesting responsibilities include:

• To ascertain financial management, administration and implementation responsibility for the achievement of project outcomes.
• To assure the leadership of the team that administers the Integrated Health Services Project and to oversee the local project team of 7 employees.
• To provide technical expertise to national actors and affiliated institutions in the area of secondary health care reform, chronic disease management, integrated people centred care, continuous professional development, health education, community participation and health promotion.
• Regular financial and technical reporting to Swiss TPH, regular consultations with the local SDC team.
• To coordinate project related activities and closely liaise with other multi- and bilateral agencies as well as NGOs working in Kosovo’s health sector.
• To communicate/liaise with other Swiss TPH projects and other SDC funded projects in the region.

You should have the following experiences and skills in:

• Formal qualification in medicine, health policy, hospital management, health service management, epidemiology or a health related field (at least Master degree level). A postgraduate training in public health or an MBA is an asset.
• Minimum of 8 years working experience in the field of public health and health reform in transition countries, the (Western) Balkans and/or Eastern Europe.
• Long term management experience of large health sector support projects, including in administering and overseeing the budget, ideally within a SDC project.
• Strong managerial skills, including result-oriented management, strategic planning, human resources and financial management skills; strong experience in steering and mentoring, capacity to anticipate issues and identify forward-looking solutions; strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.
• Proven leadership experience in leading a team of senior national experts.
• Ability to communicate with high level policy makers and international partners.
• Excellent command of English and Albanian is a requirement.
