About the position
The Performance, Innovation and Strategic Analysis for Impact (PISA4Impact) is currently searching for a Postdoctoral Fellow to mainly provide insights on the design and implementation of impact evaluation studies of the research developed by the Alliance and partners.

Main responsibilities

  • Assist multi-disciplinary Alliance research initiatives and bilateral projects in experimental and survey design and contribute to developing and using standard procedures for data capture and processing for widely applied experiments.
  • Analyze the statistical relevance of research outcomes and other indicators reported in the research performance management system and monitor strategic indicators such as the Alliance research contribution to SDGs indicators.
  • Implement and support in-house capacity building of Alliance staff, visiting researchers, and students in research methods, statistical analysis, and the use of statistical packages, interpretation, and documentation of research results.
  • Participate in the design and planning of the research proposals
  • Provides rigorous/sound analysis and timely conceptual input in support of a research project.
  • Coordinate with parties within and outside the organization (external partnerships), donor relations (fundraising and project implementation).
  • Contributes to and generates scientific publications.

Education and requirements

  • PhD or master’s degree in Agricultural Economics or related sciences, with a strong background in statistical analysis
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience in statistical analysis using R, SAS, Stata or another statistical package required
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a highly dynamic, transdisciplinary, and multi-cultural team
  • Author of at least 2 articles published in ISI journals
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills; courtesy, tact and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds.
  • Highly developed skills with personal organization and priority setting.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence within assigned areas complemented by sound judgment and initiative, and the ability to maintain structured and ad hoc communications with supervisors and colleagues to seek guidance.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and practice new technologies as needed.

Terms of employment
This is an international recruited position, and will be based in Cali, Colombia. The initial contract will be for up to two (2) years, subject to a probation period of six (6) months and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources. This position is graded at a level BG08 in a scale of 14 levels being BG14 the highest level.
