POLICY AND TRAINING SPECIALIST (HR)

Job description

Still I Rise, an international NGO, works towards development and the realisation of humanitarian projects aiming at providing education and support to refugee children and youth, is looking for a Recruitment Specialist. The selected candidate will be responsible for the facilitation of internal policy writing processes, conducting research and data collection and organise and manage the implementation of periodic trainings for all staff, tailored to the needs of the organisation, reporting to the HR Manager, in support of the operational activities of the HR Department of Still I Rise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consulting with managers to discover staff requirements and specific policy objectives.

  • Conducting extensive research and data collection on relevant existing policies and legal requirements at both national and international levels

  • Compilation of descriptive and informative reports on normative frameworks concerning areas such as Finance, Job Market, Code of conducts, payrolls, holidays and leaves, Data protection, recruitment, employment, healthcare systems, safety and security, and others

  • Work in close collaboration with HR Manager to gain understanding of the goals and objectives of future policies

  • Examine existing policies and identify areas of improvement with subsequent targeted area of intervention to implement new policies

  • Lay groundwork for new programs and legislations to meet organisational objectives

  • Review and amend policy drafts, proposing suggestions to improve the effects of existing ones and redact new ones

  • Consult with each head of department in order to gain a thorough understanding of the organisational needs and priorities concerning policies

  • Inform and extensively train all departments’ and programs’ teams on the policy development and implementation processes with all relevant contextual procedures

  • Manage the scheduling and conduction of all trainings to staff on behalf of the HR Department in close collaboration with HR Manager

  • Support other ad hoc requests as required by the HR Manager according to the Departments’ operational and organisational needs and priorities

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Degree in Policy, Business development, or other relevant fields

  • Excellent interpersonal and observational skills

  • Strong and rooted analytical skills and critical thinking

  • Organisational skills and time efficiency, with ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Full written proficiency in both Italian and English are required

  • Computer literacy and confidence with main operating systems (Windows, Office, MS Word, Excel)

  • Public Speaking and presentation skills

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment

  • Result orientation, ability to multitask and problem solve

  • Proficiency in other languages are considered a further asset
