Description
TdH It is looking for physiotherapist with university degree in physiotherapy and consolidated experience in hospitals or with NGOs. They are of work will be Erbil governorate.

REQUIREMENTS
diploma or bachelor degree in physiotherapyat least 2 years of experience as physiotherapist in private or public sector;
previous experience with people with disabilities is a strong asset
previous experience in NGO in similar position is a strong asset
fluent in Arabic and/or Kurdish
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS DECRIPTION
- Identify specific needs of the program beneficiaries, contribute to the assessment of these needs and/or directly assess these needs as required:
- Work with the team to identify, register and analyze beneficiaries’ specifics needs (disabilities and vulnerabilities) in the areas of activities;
- Develop a community approach to ensure the sustainability of the intervention
- To assess functional capacities of the beneficiaries and identify their needs in terms of rehabilitation:
- Conduct a rehabilitation assessment taking into account physical, social and environmental factors in a holistic way;
- Based on the assessment, make a management plan, considering the functional needs, social situation and access to services of the beneficiaries.
- To offer safe and appropriate rehabilitation interventions:
- The rehabilitation interventions will need informed consent of the beneficiary and should be adapted to her/his essentials needs.
- The intervention should be adapted to the limitations of the emergency responses including transfer of basic skills to the family/caretaker
- The intervention has to be comprehensive for the beneficiary and his family/caretaker and in accordance with international rehab standards. The intervention has to be based on the defined objectives of the rehabilitation activity as well as on the beneficiaries’ objectives
- The therapist has to be able to detect any physiologic or psychological changes of beneficiary and will modify treatment consecutively.
- The therapist has to know and take into account contra-indications and precautions related to diverse illnesses, injuries and treatments.
- The therapist must ensure safety at all times when working with beneficiaries.
- He/she is responsible for the specific services provided to the beneficiary.
- He/she will provide follow up care and make decisions regarding discharge as appropriate.
- To refer beneficiary to other services when needed:
- The therapist has to be able to identify his/her own limits and ask for support when needed.
- He/she will have to recognize emergency situation or situations that need immediate medical care and react quickly to facilitate access to appropriate services.
- He/she will make internal and external referrals in response to identified non-rehabilitation needs in coordination with the team
- Participate to the psychosocial strategy of intervention by identifying the beneficiaries needs:
- Propose an action plan for the beneficiary referral after exiting registration
- Use and promote the “comprehensive approach” to rehabilitation
- In collaboration with the rest of the team, identify the beneficiaries and the families who could benefit from a group session
- Report data on group activities, follow-up on individual cases and organize the daily and weekly activities:
- Ensure a qualitative follow up of the beneficiaries and document the follow up according to the monitoring plan during registration period until exiting
- Ensure a daily quantitative and qualitative reporting through the tools (assessment form, follow up form, discharger and monitoring form, donation certificate, groups report) and system in place
- Organization of the weekly plan within the pluridisciplinary team, with the support of Project Manager.
- Oversee the use of communal assistive device when on duty in the registration area
- Provide a clear handover to following shift
- Any other reports to be made upon line manager request
- Based on the PM request, organize capacity building activities targeting other team members and partner organizations:
- Carry out training needs assessment and design training plan in collaboration with the technical advisor
- Implement formal training sessions on rehabilitation, mobility aids and assistive devices
- Provide informal and on the job training as needed
- Within its technical field and scope of work, assist and advise partners on handling cases and report difficulties to Rehabilitation PM, Project Officer and Technical Advisor
- To demonstrate an ethical and professional practice:
- Respect beneficiary confidentiality.
- Respect and promote TDH’s Policies on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and Child Protection and report to your line manager any non-respect of TDH’s policies amongst the teams or partners.
- Address needs and requests in a professional way.
- Report any incidents or acts that cause any harm to beneficiary or to others.
- Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers
- Always ask the permission to touch or to apply any treatment or manoeuvres to someone.
- Always respect a refusal of treatment.
- Work with the best of knowledge and abilities to offer a good quality rehabilitation treatment.
- Show abilities and competences to execute an efficient rehabilitation intervention.
- Behave respectfully with regards to culture and religious backgrounds of beneficiaries
- Immediately report severe protection issues to Protection PM
CONFIDENTIALITY CLAUSE
As the position is involved in sensitive topics such as security or strategy, he/ she must observe absolute discretion within and outside. A non-respect of this clause might have immediate dismissal as a result.
