About Haringey

Working in the public sector is all about making a difference to people’s everyday lives, making the environment in which they live a better place, and giving them the tools, they need to improve their own lives and play an active role in the community. We’ve got huge ambitions for Haringey. As the shape of local government continues to change, we’re determined to rise to the challenge and find new ways to ensure that our residents enjoy the best opportunities in life – through excellent education, training, access to facilities and community empowerment. We’re committed to growth that can benefit all our residents, by strengthening the borough’s local economy and bringing in new facilities and activities. Working at Haringey gives you the opportunity to play a part in meeting those ambitions on behalf of everyone who calls the borough their home.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and driven Local Government Pension Administration (LGPS) team, supporting a borough-wide workforce committed to the improvement of Haringey as a place to live, work and invest. If you are an experienced LGPS practitioner, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for to build upon your knowledge and skills, as you will be joining an organisation that values training and development as key to both your and the council’s success. We are seeking to recruit two experienced. Please see the associated job description for more about the role.

About You

You will be delivering a professional, high quality, customer focused LGPS Administration service to all customer groups and across all aspects of the LGPS, responding in a timely manner to customer needs, resolving most queries, including complex queries, without hand-off to others. As key members of the pensions team you will take responsibility for the integrity of all pension data, processes and procedures managed on behalf of customers; ensuring all administrative duties are carried out accurately, timely and in line with pension scheme regulations, Council policies and procedures and statutory legislation.

Benefits

The pensions administration service for the Haringey Pension Fund provides its services to around 30,000 scheme members and more than 90 scheme employers. Our aim is to provide members and employers with an accurate, timely and member-focused service. To help deliver this, we have begun to increase the team’s resources and invest in technology. However, there is more to be done. Working as part of the Pensions and Treasury Team, the successful candidates will complete the team’s transformation and make sure it’s ready to meet the current and future challenges that face LGPS Funds. As an organisation that values and nurtures talent, we’re committed to helping you fulfil your potential and will offer you a supportive, friendly, and collaborative environment to grow and develop your career and skills. We’re constantly striving to improve our ways of working so putting your ideas across – however big or small – will be fully encouraged and supported by your colleagues and our dynamic and experienced senior management team.
