Job Purpose:

The Advocacy and Partnerships Officer will support ATAA Senior Management Team to
develop programs plan and support strategic engagement with providing senior
humanitarian leadership and implementation of the humanitarian mechanism based on
ATAA Humanitarian Policy and represent it regionally and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting program managers with the tools and approaches for partnership engagement for effective programming.
  • Advise all departments to ensure partner compliance/accountability of these activities to ensure consistency and high standards across ATAA partnerships portfolio.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings when new grants/sub-grants are awarded.
  • Keep track of partners and potential partners procurement notices websites, new opportunities, and analyze the requirements and recommendations of the donor.
  • Update existing and potential partners of new changes in ATAA policies, procedures, program/project-related updates, or general updates via formal and informal communication methods and bring them up to speed.
  • Responsible of organizing and facilitating organization capacity assessment with existing and potential partners.
  • Develop donors map and required tools to approach, maintain partners.
  • Facilitate new funding opportunities for local and national civil society organizations, government, the private sector, and other entities. This will include proposal writing, coordinate design workshops/budget development.
  • Coordinate the effective startup of partnerships, including Partnership Opening Meetings with partners, programs, M&E and other departments, as relevant.
  • identify key policy areas ATAA wants to influence, for example, access, protection, services, administrative policies/issues affecting ATAA staff and operation.
  • Communicate with ATAA staff to develop advocacy strategies, policies, tactics, and tools. That includes developing the advocacy campaigns that serve the organization, and supervision of implementing them.
  • Engage with humanitarian coordination platforms.
  • Work closely and communicate on a daily basis with emergency teams on the ground.
  • Monitor data Collecting from IMU, ATAA teams on the ground, other organizations working on human rights and humanitarian response, and updates coming from other partners on the humanitarian needs in Syria.
  • Liaison with local, regional, and international Press, and write and submit advocacy reports on behalf of ATAA when needed.
  • Representing ATAA in humanitarian platforms including civil society alliances, UN coordination meetings, advocacy working groups.
  • Working on talking points, presentations, briefings for the senior management team of ATAA when they represent the organization on any platform.
  • Liaison with human rights and investigation bodies who are tracking violations against humanitarian workers.

  • Full commitment to the protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, child safeguarding, protection from harassment in work place policies and procedures at ATAA.
  • Full commitment to the humanitarian standards and principles and enhancing the protection mainstreaming.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in NGOs .
  • bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., public policy, advocacy, programs development, etc).
  • Experience speaking and presenting publicly in front of small and large groups.
  • Experience tailoring communication approaches to an intended audience.
  • Good understanding of donor rules and regulations and the implementation of strong compliance and control framework.
  • High Communication Skills and Representation
  • Fluent in English, Arabic language is desirable.
  • Ability to travel to program and global conferences/meetings when required.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours including evenings and weekends based on business need.
  • Experience in the Syrian context is highly preferred.
