Sightsavers is looking for an an experienced organisational communications officer to join our growing organisational communications team at an exciting time as we repurpose our Sharepoint intranet.

Salary: £29,117 to £34,255 per annum

Location: UK remote, with occasional travel to Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: This is a full-time role with some flexibility around hours worked and mostly home working

Do you want to contribute to a great workplace for everyone? The organisational communications officer is a new role in a new team focused on building strong connections across all Sightsavers staff in all countries and helping to build greater business understanding amongst our employees.

At the heart of our channels approach is the development and launch of our new Sharepoint intranet, to drive engagement and adoption, and guide daily operations.

Within this role you will:

Support the Organisational Communications Lead in the development and creation of our new Sharepoint intranet
Assist in developing a strong content strategy for the intranet within the wider organisational communications channel strategy.
Be responsible for the hands-on delivery of our new intranet’s content strategy
Bring vital knowledge around Sharepoint and the wider Microsoft 365 channels mix
Day to day operations lead of our new intranet once live
Manage our organisational communications channels strategy
Be an active member of the campaigns and communications directorate

We are keen for the successful applicant to visit our offices for collaboration with the team once every two weeks but for the rest of the time this role will be worked from home. Please see the full job description for more information.

You’re a people-person and a team player with a lot of respect for the views and opinions of others. You are excited at being able to engage and strengthen the voice of all staff across the organisation through your content and creative approach in support of the wider organisational objectives. Language skills – especially French or Portuguese (in addition to fluent English) would be useful in this role but aren’t essential.
